Inno Setup and Access

Post by Daved »

HI,
The Inno setup seems to work very well.
Accept the Access DB is being copied read only.
Could it be because of installing the programs into C:\program files(x86)\appdir\files
Neobook setup works fine in the root directory.
C:\appname\files

Thanks in advance

If installing under Windows 7 and the file will be changing, this may not work and hence the read-only status.
If you can use Innosetup to install the database off the root and your app points to it, it should work.
There are other references to this in another threads. Do a search.

It's a permissions problem with installing into c:\program files or c:\program files (x86). Installing into a folder off the root: Ex: c:\your program name\ should solve the problem. If the user doesn't have admin privileges, right clicking and selecting "Run As Administrator" should solve the problem. This has been so since Windows Vista.
