Need help identifying plugin

Post by beno »

Hi Folks,

It´s been a long time I do not post or visit the forum.

A customer contacted me reporting a NeoProduction I made is not working with newer Windows versions. This message appears:

Image

I used lots of plugins. This one whose file name is: nwe20.nbp must be a html editor plugin. But my neurons are rust and I do not remember who is the plugin author.

Ideas?

Do someone remembers this plugin and its author?

Thanks in advance friends. And nice to visit this beloved place.

Hi Hans,

Long time no see.

I changed my setup some years ago, so I do not have a working environment. But will make a sandbox to try to recreate my neodevelopment stuff.

I received today this customer report and the first thing I thought was to post it here.

Thanks anyway.

Best

NeoWebEdit is a webpage editor based on DHTML services.
It's obvious that this plugin does not work again, because the DHTML services are not included with Windows after XP.
I think M$ has a link to download this services.
I don't remember the author, but I think is a Robert Cohen (RCohen) plugin.

*** Added later:

I had checked my NeoNTML documentation and i found this:

I just detected Vista, Win7 or Win8 users can not use properly the plugin.

The reason is Microsoft did not include the DHTML services on this installations.

DHTML Services can be downlodaded at:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... px?id=8956

After download, install the msi package, and the plugin works fine.

Hi Wrangler and David,

Good to see old friends here.

Yes, you are right David, that is from Robert Cohen. My rusted neurons.... ;)

Will contact him or think in a workaround for my customer.

Thanks!!!

Hi Beno! Hope you've been well. Welcome back to the forum. And yes, I know all about those neurons, or lack of them. :)
