Some fools saw an increase in the sales of mobile devices and thought it would be the "future" of computing. Have you ever seen a six inch book that can fit into your shirt pocket? Very easy to carry wherever you go. But almost impossible to read. Who is going to read a book (or academic website) on a small mobile device? Almost nobody. So why the sudden increase in sales? Teenagers, for one, are having a field day sending nude pictures to each other (sexting) with mobile devices. But that is certainly not the future of computing. A 30 inch screen (or larger) with many gigabytes of storage space and memory are the real future of computing. But the big corporations have ignored that certain reality to confront the dubious mobile market craze. Remember the hoola hoop...

Certainly, the Utopian world depicted in Apple, Google, Facebook, etc. adverts is not the world I live in.

Mobile communication is very useful if you travel. For most other people it is just for entertainment. Since food is more important for survival than communication, maybe someone will invent a mobile 3D printer that prints sandwiches. So everywhere you go you can have your sandwich. That will solve everything... lol
