Bend, Oregon ... in the news again

Post by Gaev »

According to this article ... http://venturebeat.com/2013/07/22/hacki ... e-numbers/ ... users of the Airbnb (vacation rental service) rated Bend, Oregon as the 4th most hospitable city in the USA that hosted guests of this service.

Didn't know Dave was also into hosting his place out to guests ... :)

If you do actually drive the speed limit you'll end up with a long line of cars behind you with drivers complaining about how SLOW you are!

These articles all seem to be about the same person, which reminds me of a quote from the Portland Oregon newspaper about 100 years ago. It goes something like this:

"If Bend could suck as hard as it blows, it would be an inland port* by now."

It's still true today. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, but the city is filled with the same people who inhabit every city everywhere with all the same virtues and faults.

* Bend is located about 150 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The quote implies that the citizens of Bend are full of themselves.
