NeoBook 5.8.4 Update Released
NeoSoft Corp. has released NeoBook version 5.8.4.
The version 5.8.4 upgrade patch can be downloaded from the following website:
http://www.neosoftware.com/patch.html#nbw5
Follow the instructions to download and apply the update patch.
This update contains the following:
Fixes
Corrected a problem that caused NeoBook to shutdown when a new Web Browser object was added to an existing publication. This was caused by a compatibility issue with an update to the copy protection software used to prevent NeoBook from being decompiled.
The HelpTopic action now works with CHM files that contain topics stored in subdirectories and topics that end in .htm instead of .html.
NeoBook no longer extracts the runtime player module (NBPlay5.exe) at startup. Instead, this file is now installed as part of NeoBook’s setup/update process. The previous extraction method could potentially conflict the security settings used with certain Windows configurations.

Looks like Dave's making a habit out of this! LOL I bet he didn't think there would be all these bugs when he pushed out 5.8.0!

Hello Dave, Hello Neobookers,
Question, after upgrading to 5.8.4. I have a problem when adding a call from the function library. If I click on the gearwheel Neobook freeze's and after several minutes comes back but doesn't open the dialog??
It this something at my side or.....
Regards,
Eric

That's very strange. I'm not having any trouble displaying the function list here.
Can you access the Function Library from the Options menu?
Have there been any changes to your function folder (..\Program Files\NeoBook 5\Functions)?

Re: NeoBook 5.8.4 Update Released
Hello Dave,
I can the Function Library from the options menu, there have not been any changes in the function folder. I did only the upgrade to 5.8.4.
If I put an "Call" and i use the wizard to select the function, after I click on the gearwheel my cursor changes in the Windows 7 round waiting symbol for a wile and than returns to the wizard window without opening the function selection screen.
There is another strange thing in this, I wanted to make a Print-screen of this behavior but this doesn't work.

There haven't been any changes to the function library for quite a while, so I'm not sure what to suggest. Try downloading and installing the full v5.8.4 setup:
