Text over animated background video

Post by CN_Iceman »

Hi NeoBookers!!

I'm trying to make an animated background application. I use a video with a MediaPlayer Object in loop mode.
The problem I have, is that by putting a text above does not work the Hollow option, and displays the text box as Solid.

Any idea?
Greetings/Saludos, Jose.

Hello,

This is how I can view the program:

I don't know if you view something like that or what.

On the other hand, are you tried with Text labels instead of Edit Boxes?

Hi David.
Exactly, that's what I see.
And yes, I'm using Text instead of Edit Box. As you can see, the [Time24] variable that is showing the clock is with a gray background. More to the right there is a rectangle object with Black color to compare.

Thank's.

I can suggest two options.
Use plug-in. It is located in a folder with an example.
Or use the swf format.

The first option will really need to make moving objects over time together with the main window. But I think it will not be difficult, and you are able to do so.

It's not possible to display a transparent object on top of a video. The problem is that the transparent object has no idea that the objects underneath it are changing. There may be a way to do it, but not with the standard Windows-based components (text boxes, push buttons, etc.) that are used in NeoBook.

Thanks for the help mishem.
Your method worked perfectly, and I have no problem moving objects, but it seems too much work for something that should be easier.
Anyway, this plugin has given me new ideas, and I have seen a translation somewhere in the forum (I still do not speak Russian) :P

This is what I was thinking.
Anyway, thank you.
