Grid in Rectangle in Custom Window

In my app I have a table showing in a rectangle object in a Custom Window.
I have an ADD button which will allow the user to add information (e.g. office held and dates from/to) to the table as well as extra information automatically. e.g. Member Number (using current member screen)
I don't want the user to type in the Grid directly.
Is there a way to show the grid but not allow additions unless they use the ADD button?
