Would you purchase a Neobook Super Plugin using RS232/USB

Post by datadon »

Dave is considering a plugin for inputs using RS232 and USB. Please take the poll to see if there is enough interest.

Thanks
Don

I wonder at what level of interest is enough for Dave to produce the plugin?
I have loads of projects just waiting..

I can imagine Dave is pretty busy with all his other stuff going on. But we do have other programmers out there. I know DEC has done some fine things. Plus others. Talent we are not short of. Maybe we could get someone to throw out a price and see how it divy's up.

I am happy to help Donald. Unfortunatelly, this field is very unknow to me: I have no experience in this kind of software nor hardware and therefore it's very difficult to me to think in a possible plugin. I know certain Delphi stuff that may can help us, but certainly probably I am not the best in this particular case.

No problem David. (Lot of Davids around here, not sure what that means)

You've certainly done your share of plugins already.

Thanks
Don

I have some experience working with ports in the past, but testing such a plug-in would be a problem for me too. We have PCs with RS232 and USB ports, but none of the specialize hardware.

Hi Dave,
I would be more than happy to test any plug-in with Arduino devices.
What specialist hardware are you referring to?

Thanks

Hello Dave,

I have the possibility to test with Arduino, Velleman and custom made hardware.
I will be glad to test.....

Thanks for the offer to test the plug-in. The problem is that without having some type of basic test bench available locally, the process becomes much more time consuming. My limited experience with port programming is that it often takes quite a bit of experimentation/trial and error to figure out how to make everything work the way it's supposed to.

Hi, there're some news about new rs232 plugin?
Michi

Started to use Neobook in 2003 when I was 12 to make interactive books. Coders saw me and smiled.
Nowadays I'm still using Neobook to create advanced and powerful softwares. Coders see me and say: «how did you make that?»
