NeoBook 5.8.5 Update Released
NeoSoft Corp. has released NeoBook version 5.8.5.
The version 5.8.5 upgrade patch can be downloaded from the following website:
http://www.neosoftware.com/patch.html#nbw5
Follow the instructions to download and apply the update patch.
This update contains the following:
Enhancements
Tab and Shift-Tab keys can now be used to select the next or previous object in NeoBook‘s design mode. To use this feature, select a singe object, then press either the Tab or Shift-Tab keys.
Fixes
Fixed a small memory leak that occurred when launching external applications using the Run action. The memory leak was extremely small, but was cumulative and could cause problems when Run was used hundreds or thousands of times during a single session.
The balloon and sticky note actions now work correctly when used on PC’s connected to multiple monitors.
The CommandLine_OnChange subroutine is now executed even when an application is minimized to the system tray.
Corrected a problem that could cause the action editor to crash when the word wrap option was turned on and the editor window was wider than 255 characters. Generally this only occurred when using a large monitor combined with a small font size.
Modified the Web Browser object’s “browser compatibility mode” option to properly detect the most recent version of Internet Explorer. This feature should also work with future versions of IE.
Containers with large numbers of transparent objects (such as checkboxes) now redraw more quickly.
It is now possible to programmatically select duplicate entries from a ListBox using the SetVar action. Previously, when a ListBox contained duplicate entries only the first one would be selected. Now you can select the second, third, etc. duplicates by including them in SetVar. For example: SetVar “[ListBox1]” “Apple|Orange|Banana|Apple”
Corrected a problem that caused plug-ins to become uninstalled after moving individual plug-ins up or down in the list on the Install Plug-Ins screen, then installing a new plug-in.
The command line compiler option now correctly copies external files.
The SaveVariables action no longer saves hidden variables (prefixed with “*/*”).
And several other minor fixes.

You can do to choose to save or not to save the hidden variables?
Conveniently hide variables so they do not appear in the debugger.
Or maybe in the future you can make a choice of which variables to show and what not to show in the debugger.

Re: NeoBook 5.8.5 Update Released
Hello Dave, Hello All,
I don't know if it is only me, but I have after the update in the Subroutine editor a strange behavior. If I copy something in the editor (Full screen) it looks like the paste action isn't done at the cursor position but somewhere lower.
After going with the arrow keys up or down everything falls in its place (the pasted code moves to the right place).
Hopefully is my description is understandable??
Regards,
Eric

Hello,
I try to reproduce the problem here Eric, but, if I understand well, I can't reproduce the same behaviour. My tried "copy and paste" operations works apparently like expected.

Re: NeoBook 5.8.5 Update Released
The action editor's paste problem only occurs under certain circumstances. In v5.8.5 we upgraded the SynEdit component to correct the word wrap bug reported here. Unfortunately, the new version of SynEdit has introduced this new paste issue. Fortunately, the problem is cosmetic only. The text is actually pasted correctly and can be made visible by scrolling or highlighting the text. We'll correct this in the next update. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Hello Dave,
Thanks I was afraid there is something wrong with my configuration. I already found out that it is really only after pasting and as you already wrote a scroll brings everything back in his place. Its a little bit confusing but for the time being I think we can live with it...

Eric
