Have been looking forward to the new version for 2 days.
Paid for upgrade (received Invoice) 2 hours ago but haven't got the registration code by email yet.

Does it take this long?

In the meantime, I downloaded the trial version.

Got it! Shows how anxious I was to get using it as a registered user.

Oh, and congratulations to Neosoft.
Love the products.

Also congratulations, Dave.
The new features like layers and alpha-support are great additions to the toolbox!
(And all without dropping all the current great feature set of 4.X)

Noticed a couple things:

1. Neopaint 5 did not install as the default for images e.g. jpg
Wants to bring up Neopaint 4 when I double-click on an image although I have used 'open with' and 'browse' for program.

2. Full page editing seems to throw tool bars on top of image which is in the upper left side of screen.

If you're using Windows Vista or higher, select "Set Preferences" from NeoPaint's Options menu. Then click the "File Types" tab. You can select which file types you want to associate with NeoPaint.

For Windows XP, you will need to set the file associations manually, which is how version 4 worked.
2. Full page editing seems to throw tool bars on top of image which is in the upper left side of screen.
In full screen mode, you can re-position and roll up the tool palettes to suit your needs. You can also, press the SPACE BAR to hide and restore the palettes.

Did try setting File associate to Neopaint 5 but comes up in Neopaint 4.

Guess it's time to say goodbye to Version 4.

Using Windows XP
I have uninstalled Neopaint 4 which was associated with different graphics files.

Trying to Associate Neopaint 5 with e.g. jpg file.
Neopaint 5 is not a choice in 'Recommended Programs'
Browsing to select Neopaint 5 from Programs folder doesn't work either.

Any solution to this besides opening Neopaint 5 first and find the graphic file?

In explorer, right click a .jpg file and somewhere it should give you the option to choose the program to associate it with other than recommended programs.

Still Neopaint 5 doesn't show up as an option.
Don't know why. As if Neopaint 5 never registered itself.

Even selecting Neopaint in the 'choose program/select from list' doesn't help.
