NeoBook 5.5.4 Update Released

NeoSoft Corp. has released NeoBook version 5.5.4. Registered users of previous versions of NeoBook 5 can download a free update patch for version 5.5.4 from the following web site:

http://www.neosoftware.com/patch.html

Follow the instructions to download and apply the update patch.

This update contains the following:

Enhancements

-Added an auto-sort option to the Set Tab Order dialog. The Auto-Sort (Across) and Auto-Sort (Down) buttons will attempt set the tab order based on the object’s screen coordinates. Deciding on the appropriate tab order can be somewhat subjective, so the computer may not always make the best choices. However, you will be given an opportunity to fine-tune the tab order before making the changes permanent.

-Several visual cues have also been added to the Tab Order dialog to assist in identifying objects.

-When using the "Prevent multiple copies of this publication from running at the same time" option (Book Properties > Access), NeoBook will now check for the presence of a special subroutine called CommandLine_OnChange, and execute this subroutine whenever a user attempts to start more than one copy of your publication. For example:

The CommandLine_OnChange subroutine is particularly useful if your publication uses the global [CommandLine] variable to load external files at startup. Prior to executing CommandLine_OnChange, NeoBook will automatically update the contents of the [CommandLine] variable with the command line of the second instance. This is useful if you have registered a file type association with Windows, which allows users to start your publication by double clicking on a file matching the association. Windows passes the name of clicked file to your publication via the command line which you can intercept using the [CommandLine] variable.

-And several other minor enhancements.

Fixes

-Corrected a problem that prevented the Plug-In SDK’s nbVerifyLicense function from working correctly with runtime plug-in (nbr) files. This only affected commercial plug-ins that used the runtime (nbr) feature.

Thanks for the new update.

One question: Some help boxes (for example in the tab-order dialog) have a small 'hide help box' button at the top right corner.

When I have hide it, how can I unhide it?

la version française sera délivrée par TTP France comme d'habitude.

Mais il faut attendre un peu la traduction !!!!!

Bonsoir

La mise à jour est disponible en français depuis hier .
Par contre serait t 'il possible d' avoir en même temps la tradution des posts en Français sur ce forum.

Je sais que c'est contraignant et exigeant de ma part mais nous n' avons aucune aide et fichier expliquant ce qui est nouveau dans les extentions.
J'ai bien essayé les traducteurs mais cela change trop le détail et les textes deviennent incompréhensible.

Depuis le patch 5.51 j' ai vu quelques changement dans le logiciel toutefois si quelqun pouvait en récapituler les nouvelles fonctions jusqu ' à la 5.54

I don't have an official list yet, but it's a maintenance update so there probably won't be anything earth shattering.

There are plans for more updates, but as a rule we don't discuss future update or make predictions about release dates.
